G.A. Henty Information and Book Lists

Compare the lists of G. A. Henty titles in the World's Best Children's Library and the Robinson Curriculum

In the 2006 edition of the World's Best Children's Library (eBooks, etexts, digital books, electronic books) on DVD, reviewed by Practical Homeschooling Magazine, there are 55 works by Henty.

In addition to the 200 English and American editions, there are also about 20 novels published in England and Canada that don't appear in United States official lists.  As a bonus there are 30 or so short stories, plus two novels that were mostly written by another author which Henty expanded and then published in the U.S. and England.

Crosby note:  http://www.waldsfe.org/Book lists/Bookseries.htm is the prime source for most of what follows on this page, including the links.  It is a wonderful site created by Doreen Blanding, Helaman's Academy.  It contains lists of books from popular series like the Hardy Boys (174 book titles), Nancy Drew  (168 titles), lists of all the Caldecott Medal Winners from 1938 onward, the Newbery Award Winners, and runner ups, starting in 1922, (the first year of publication of the Reader's Digest).  And many more very useful resource materials for parents and home school families.

For the extra-avid Hentyophile, here is the official list of 122 Henty titles as compiled by the United Kingdom's Henty Society.
