Notes to the Architect:
The standard Control Covers are constructed of 18 gauge cold-rolled
steel, with powder-coated baked enamel (black). Custom orders available
in various materials and finishes.
Mounting brackets are constructed of 11 gauge C.R. steel, and black
powder coated.
The Control Cover clamps to the flue tile with set screws as per the
illustration at left. You must have 3" or more of exposed flue tile
or add tile. If there is no flue tile exposed you may opt to order the
special mounting base for chimneys with no flue tile. See
Custom Installation.
The standard mounting bracket slips over a non-curved side of a flue
tile with a maximum 1-1/4" wall thickness. Any flue tile with a thicker
wall or curved wall requires a mounting bracket modification.

- The Control Cover opens approximately 85 degrees. It is powered
by a torsion spring biased toward the open position. If the control
cable breaks, the Control Cover springs open.
- Hinge clearance - allow 2-1/2" per flue liner
- The All Season Control Cover chimney top damper, fireplace damper
system is not for use with metal pipe chimneys, but has been used
with wood burning inserts. It is not designed for use with gas log
inserts. Check local code for exhaust requirements.
- When faced open to the wind, the Control Cover will scoop, sending
air down the chimney. Mount the Control Cover with its back to the
prevailing wind, or cross wise. Larger sized Control Covers can be
split into two sections with two control cables, which helps alleviate
the scooping issue.
